I was just asking myself the same question: how can I use twitter to help me be more mindful? I use twitter a lot already, but it's more of a dumping ground for all sorts of amusing thoughts I don't have time to pursue in any other way. I'm considering making another account to use to help me be more mindful during my workday -- I am a chronic procrastinator, and I have recently started vowing to quit. I know that a big part of my problem is that I "lose myself" in things, usually not work-related things. I used to be so bad, I'd forget to eat for hours on end. Now I just lose myself in information and "stuff" on the internet. I know the next step is to pump up my mindfulness, but how?

I was hoping to find an answer when I saw that your blog was talking about it, but to my dismay, it's still an unanswered question, everywhere I look. So I'm going to remove myself from the vicinity of the computer, and brainstorm about how to increase mindfulness using twitter...

Hi

I found my way here after listening to you on Utterz and wanting to see how you would integrate that into your websites.

I'm blown away by your post on mindfulness and Twitter. While I don't see thinking as linear I do share your excitement at using Twitter as a tool to help in the understanding of mindfulness.

I took the mindfulness course with Jon Kabat-Zinn and one of the first exercises is to close your eyes and place a raisin on your tongue and let it sit there while you pay attention to it's taste and texture.

I hope you will continue to explore this and I'm sure an Utterz about this topic will be a great hit.

Thanks

I was just checking my Twitter account for the first time in ages(not very mindful, is it?)when I found you following me, so I found and followed your tweet about this post and...

Holy synchronicities, Batgirl! I've always thought Twitter would be great as a reminder of being-here-now-ness, But I'd like something to proactively prompt me with "What are you doing now?" -- That's part of what I was looking for today, when I saw your Tweet. Any suggestions, Biray?
