From one seat over, my experience was totally different. I really enjoyed the movie and left feeling inspired by what marathoners achieve. I agree the "reality tv" aspect of following specific runners around didn't really add much, but the more interesting bits were seeing the runners on registration day, seeing the sheer size of the chicago marathon, and seeing that last stretch where the elite runners were forcing their bodies to keep going.

But, yeah, for people who've run marathons or have already experienced them in some other way, this movie doesn't do much.
